Concrete Projects Workshop

Greetings! Those of you looking at this initially were probably refered to it by an email I sent you. Over the past couple of years, I've met somereally fun people excited by doing some more artsy things with concrete andI've compiled a list of those of you that expressed an interest in having a workshop. I'm anxious to bring y'all together, because you've all seemed excited to get a chance to share ideas and approaches for concrete art. Most of you have already done some playing/experimenting, and several of you already do some within your profession. Most of you have played with decorative concrete more than I have, so I'm looking forward to bringing together a workshop atmosphere where you can share with each other. I know that amongst you, there is a talented muralist, a decorative concrete contractor, and several garden art crafters (including, but not limited to, concrete leaves, concrete planters, stepping stones, tabletops and more). I really think you'll enjoy and be inspired by each other. If there is continued interest, perhaps we can use this blog to coordinate future get-togethers or events; and if you know someone else as interested and inspirational as ya'll are, please invite them to join us! I'd really like to encourage you to reply to this blog and we'll have our own network/community that can grow with us! My first question to you is when would you like to get together? Our concrete classes here have traditionally been on Saturdays, but the workshop I'm proposing to you certainly does not have to be. For this first workshop,I'm asking for a $15 fee, to make some coverage for supplies. Besides your feedback on when to have this first workshop (I'm thinking sometime mid-March), I'd also like you to feedback about ideas, projects,problems with..., supplies needed for the particular project you want towork on, etc... . Think about particular artwork you are hoping to try something with! We have a small cement mixer of mine here at the plant, acidstains, integral colors, a sandblaster, overlays, and all kinds of handy tools. Also, we have a great source for technical advice from Byron (most ofyou know that he's the owner/manager of this company).So, I'm waiting to hear from y'all, and I know I will, 'cause you are all interested, energetic and ambitious when talking about concrete art!
